Review sites are the latest trend in Internet marketing.  You can intercept customers almost ready to buy, as well as promote several affiliate products at once.  You can even use it to do research to see what product is most popular!  But how do you create your own?

Wordpress  review sites provide a powerful platform for installing a easy to use, WYSIWYG editor on your site.  With the different themes that are available, you can customize your Wordpress site to look however you prefer.  However, not all those themes are ideal for a review site.

Look for a theme that allows you to remove the dates, since you’re not running a blog – you’re creating a static website.  Also, look at the style.  You want a professional looking theme to make people feel safe in their purchase.  Finally, look for the ability to customize.  If you have to go into editing the stylesheets or PHP files, you’re looking at a large time investment.  The ideal theme will have a form you can fill out to get your site looking how your want.

You can also look at having a webmaster code your site.  This generally starts at $500, but you do get exactly the look you want for your site.  If you’re just starting out, this may be too big of an initial investment.

A third option is to find a paid theme.  These run between $70-$100.  The people who write them have a vested interest in making the themes work – if they didn’t, they would quickly wind up with a bad reputation and no more sales.

Have you searched high and low for the perfect Wordpress review template?  If you don’t know HTML, you know you need a theme that’s already laid out the way you want it. How do you find it, and how do you know which one is right for you?

There are three ways you can get a wordpress based review template, each with its own degree of ease of use and cost.  As you might imagine, the easier a theme is to use, the more it costs, with a few exceptions.

On the high end, you can order a custom made theme.  This will generally cost you about $500, but you get a theme that looks exactly the way you want it.  It definitely will save you work, but you’ll have to wait to get it.  If you’re just starting out, the price may be too steep.

The least expensive option is to download a free theme from wordpress.org and customize it.  This will require a good knowledge of HTML, CSS stylesheets, and working with PHP files.  But if you’re computer savvy, you can do this in a few hours.  If you’re not, you can teach yourself all you need to know, but you can expect that to take several weeks. This is time that you’re not earning money and your site is not improving in Google.

The best option is to get a ready made wordpress based review template.  If you can find one that you can easily customize, you have a theme you can use across several review sites.  Also look for one with one on one support, which will help you if you run into any difficulties.

Most of these Wordpress based review template themes will run between $70-$100.  Fortunately, I’ve stumbled across one that’s priced much less, yet includes the above requirements.
